This intimate island retreat sits in a beautiful protected cove with luxury tented and treetop villas overlooking a pristine beach and
majestic rock formations. Wa Ale Resort, a privately-owned eco-tourism project on the 5,000-acre island, offers a unique experience. Situated in the vibrant Pietermaai District, Willemstad, it comprises eleven luxury tented beach villas and three treetop villas on Turtle Beach. Additionally, the resort features two beach cottages with one bedroom and three beach bungalows with three bedrooms, offering a private and exclusive experience for guests.
The resort, known for its environmentally friendly approach, uses reclaimed and local materials in construction to minimize environmental impact. Each accommodation, designed to blend with the lush vegetation and pristine beach, provides sweeping ocean views. Boasting a beach lounge, the resort offers customized gourmet family-style meals and access to its dive center, providing a holistic experience.
The Beach Lounge, a private oasis on Honeymoon Beach, provides uninterrupted ocean views. Guests staying in the beach cottages can enjoy drinks and fresh farm-to-table meals, relax on 4-poster beach beds, or engage in a workout at the adjacent gym. The beach bungalows, situated near Wa Ale’s organic farm, offer spacious decks and a private beach, creating the ultimate bohemian chic experience.
Wa Ale Resort caters to nature lovers, offering activities such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and jungle treks. The spa, nestled in a natural forest/beach setting, provides massages and natural spa treatments. Guests can enjoy a range of activities, from exploring coral reefs and sea caves to wildlife watching and visits with the local fishing community.
The resort can be accessed from Bangkok, Thailand, with Air Asia flights to Ranong, followed by a boat transfer. Alternatively, guests can travel from Phuket, Thailand, with a car ride to Ranong and a boat journey to Kawthaung, Myanmar. Boat transfers to and from the resort are available on Saturdays and Tuesdays.
The resort’s rates include full board, boat transfers, house wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, internet, room amenities, and non-motorized and land-based activities. Rates exclude international and domestic flights, premium wines, liquor, champagne, scuba diving, spa/massage, conservation donations, gratuities, and VAT.
Wa Ale Resort does not offer air conditioners, hairdryers, mini-bars, telephones, or shaver outlets. Instead, it provides luxury biodegradable amenities, mosquito nets, daily tea and coffee service for villas, and a safe deposit box in the office. The resort focuses on a green and open-air design, utilizing natural spring water for consumption.
In terms of activities, guests can choose from various options such as snorkeling, diving, kayaking, paddleboarding, trekking, and exploring marine life in the Lampi Marine National Park. The resort’s dive center caters to divers of all levels, ensuring a comfortable and unique experience with minimal impact on the environment.
