Nominated Cairo’s most beautiful house by This Is Cairo, Houseboat65 is a stationary floating house situated in Zamalek island and close to Cairo’s must-see attractions. The place is built entirely out of wood with an architectural style from the 1920s and it is suited for both business and leisure travelers.

Even a year wouldn’t be enough to discover all the jewels of this ancient city. However, a few days on this houseboat can give you a good glimpse of what life is like in Cairo.

The story of Houseboat 65 started when Jerome Geyer, came back to Egypt from Europe to visit his family during the pandemic. The unique space features Mamluk-era and Arabesque pieces peppered with kilim carpets and local crafts. The result is at once eclectically colourful and sleepily serene.
