Lastly, if your stay at the Cassa isn’t satisfying enough, the service at Zenda has a number of additional boat adventures. Cruise along the Río Dulce in Guatemala’s Izabal district by sailboat, kayak, or speedboat. Whichever way you travel “Rio Dulce”, enjoy the view of the gorges and canyons, the tropical vegetation and the abundant wildlife. Rio Dulce connects Lake Izabal with the city of Livingston on the Caribbean coast, and a river cruise is a great way to visit this secluded and heavily forested area of Central America.

Lake Izabal is the largest lake in Guatemala, it is 50 feet deep and more than 28 miles long. The lake is known for its silk felt water, the temperature of which is as perfect as if it were a special clothing. It is home to manatees and is enriched with fish. Lake Izabal flows into the Rio Dulce at the eastern end of the lake, and river tours often start here. Stay in what is commonly known as the city of Río Dulce, made up of two cities on either side of the river bridge, Fronteras and el Relleno, and choose your tour from here.
